About Us
Emancipation is an independent and engaged grassroots media created by Rise for Climate Luxembourg.
Rise for Climate Luxembourg acknowledges that under the current climate crisis and economic-political-social crises, spaces for free speech and discussion are closing down. We believe these extreme times demand another media that assumes that all actions are political and that journalism is not neutral. Silence is a political stand and Emancipation is about breaking the silence. Words and language have power.
Emancipation is committed to report and bring the voices of the unheard: those that are the most affected. Emancipation conceives itself as ecological, feminist, anti-racist, anti-capitalist, internationalist, decolonial and committed to justice (social, economic, political, climate, at all levels) in times of increasing oppression.
Our media is an invitation to take responsibility and to engage in serious dialogue, social learning and community building towards system change; towards other ways of being and inhabiting the world.
